The Power of Dance to Support Learning

Elective | Queensland Ballet Academy | 24th of June, Saturday, 10.45am | Roma Room

Abstract

With the hope of inspiring both dance and generalist teachers across state, Queensland Ballet acknowledges the power of dance as an artistic medium and the many benefits available to students participating in dance within a school context. Queensland Ballet teaching artists will run a workshop to assist teachers in implementing these inspiring and creative activities into classrooms, activities have been linked to the: Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Australian Curriculum (AC). Teachers should feel comfortable to move in and about the sections of the workshop and the categories within each, thus considering richer and more experiential learning opportunities for a broader range of students and a greater variety of classroom situations.
